About Katie

I am a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach and have been practicing in the Denver area since 2018. My path into this work began through my own health struggles. I knew I needed to look at my body differently, but it wasn’t until I discovered functional medicine that things truly began to make sense.

Functional medicine looks at the body through a different lens, focusing on root causes rather than just symptoms. As a coach, I help you put the missing pieces together so you can move toward optimal health and well-being.

I love exploring alongside my clients: asking questions, learning about them, guiding and challenging them, and sharing both laughter and tears along the way. Most importantly, I believe in healing. I believe that we can all rise up, even in the face of challenges. I invite you to reach out so we can explore together what feeling your best might look like for you.

Outside of my work as a coach, my life here in Colorado is deeply rooted in family, connection, and time outdoors. I have lived in Denver since 1996, when I moved here from the Chicago area to attend the University of Denver. I love spending time with my husband, our two children, and our dogs. When I’m not coaching, you’ll find me playing tennis or platform tennis, skiing, hiking, or traveling. And when I’m not taking full advantage of Colorado’s outdoors, you will find me dancing at concerts, cooking in my kitchen, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

My Approach

When we meet for the first time, I honor where you are in your life. I won’t rush you or push an agenda; instead, I want you to feel comfortable, open, and ready to share, so we can explore together how you can rise up to your truest self.

I listen with intention, offer support, and provide gentle challenges as you take steps toward greater wellness. Using a functional medicine approach, I look beyond symptoms to uncover root causes, so we can create a personalized plan that truly fits you and your life.

My Process

As your coach, I’m here to support you as you uncover the answers that already lie within you. We begin with the Why of Wellness, a thoughtful series of questions designed to help both of us understand you: your habits, your patterns, and the areas of your life where small changes can create meaningful impact.

Once we complete the Why of Wellness, we move deeper. Together, we peel back the layers to identify the root causes of challenges and explore opportunities for growth, so you can move toward your healthiest, most empowered self. Throughout the process, I provide guidance, support, and encouragement that can encourage you to rise up, step by step, toward wellness that feels sustainable and authentic.

Unique Framework

Every person is unique, and understanding who you are is at the heart of my approach. Together, we create a personalized progress plan tailored specifically to you — reflecting your hopes, dreams, challenges, and goals.

This plan is not static; it evolves as you do. We check in regularly, celebrate successes, and make adjustments along the way so that your plan continues to support your growth and fit your life. My goal is to provide a framework that is flexible, supportive, and empowering — helping you rise up and move steadily toward your healthiest, most vibrant self.

What RiseUp Means to Me

Much like the moon, we all experience bumps and bruises – mentally, physically, or both. Yet we don’t always recognize our ability to rise again, night after night, just as the moon does.

So often, our society encourages us to be like the sun – always bright, energetic, and cheerful even when we feel tired, heavy, or unsure. But that expectation can pull us away from what’s natural and true.

RiseUp is rooted in a different way of being. Like the moon, we are allowed to wax and wane. Some days we show up with energy and clarity; other days, all we can offer is a small step forward. And that still matters.

My goal is to help you trust yourself through every phase. I support you to recognize that showing up, even at one percent, is still showing up. Rising up doesn’t mean pushing harder, it simply means rising up and showing up for yourself each day exactly as you are.
